Purpose of This Phase

Deliberation brings together evidence, discussion, and evaluation to arrive at recommendations that reflect departmental priorities and institutional mission and values.

What Happens in This Phase

Committees review feedback, discuss finalists, and develop recommendations for the department and leadership.

Key Faculty Decisions

Committees typically decide:

  • How to synthesize varied forms of feedback
  • How to articulate the rationale for recommendations
  • How to communicate outcomes clearly and respectfully

Required Steps

  • Submission of recommendation materials to department and Dean
  • Required administrative approval
