Commencement Information for Faculty

Members of the faculty are invited to participate in the procession during one or more of the 2026 Commencement ceremonies. 

  • The SPCS and Law School Commencement ceremonies will be held on Saturday, May 9, 2026 at 9:00 a.m. and 2:00 p.m., respectively, in the Robins Center arena. If you are planning to participate in the academic procession, please arrive with your regalia at least 30 minutes before the ceremony starts. The faculty robing room is in the Robins Center room 245. Please enter through the front entrance of the Weinstein Center and follow the purple signs to Robins Center room 245.
  • The ABJ Commencement ceremony, to include candidates receiving degrees from the School of Arts and Sciences, Jepson School of Leadership Studies, and the Robins School of Business, will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, May 11, 2026 in the Robins Center arena. If you are planning to participate in the academic procession, please arrive with your regalia by 1:15 p.m. The faculty robing room, which is in Robins Center room 245, will open at 12:30 p.m. and be stocked with drinks and snacks. Please enter through the front entrance of the Weinstein Center and follow the purple signs to Robins Center room 245. (Note: entering through the Weinstein Center is new for 2026)
  • Some of our student athletes will be unable to attend regularly scheduled Commencement ceremonies this year as they will be competing during those times. To recognize the academic achievements of these students, we will hold a special Commencement ceremony on Monday, May 11, at 2:00 p.m. in the Cannon Memorial Chapel. Faculty are encouraged to attend this celebration of the student athletes' academic achievements; however, there will be no procession or regalia.
  • Faculty members who require accommodations to attend any Commencement ceremony should contact Saif Mehkari (smehkari@richmond.edu) at their earliest convenience.
  • For Commencement ceremonies taking place in the Robins Center, faculty may park in lots R45, R47, or R49.
