    Shakeela Noori is a dedicated administrative professional with more than 10 years of experience. Shakeela supports the Associate Provost of Academic Affairs, special projects, student commencement awards and grant request administrative management. She possesses excellent organizational skills, communication and leadership, and ensures the effectiveness of the university’s faculty and staff services and processes. 

    Noori was born in Afghanistan and spent part of childhood in Pakistan and moved to the United States as a teenager.  She went to high school in Colorado Springs and moved to Richmond, Virginia to complete her high school. Shakeela Noori earned a bachelor of humanities and sciences in international studies (concentrating in Middle Eastern studies and gender, sexuality and women’s studies) with a minor in religious studies from Virginia Commonwealth University.  She received her master's of school of education in adult learning and teaching and learning with concentration in human resource development from Virginia Commonwealth University in December 2023. 

    In her previous role as an office manager / full-time administrative coordinator, and adviser at Virginia Commonwealth University GEO and ELP, she assisted with student services and office management.  Outside of her professional goals, Shakeela loves traveling, spending time with family, learning new sports and she celebrates her passion for languages and culture while promoting global awareness and excellence in foreign language studies and connecting cultures and community. She speaks Farsi, English, Urdu/Hindi and learning Spanish and Arabic.
