Faculty Hiring Resources
Hiring new faculty is one of the most important tasks of any department. The resources on this page are meant to equip department chairs, search committee chairs, and search advocates with the resources they need to run an excellent search.
Each faculty search requires a diversity and search advocate (DASA) who should be named from outside the department and who should participate in all aspects of the search including crafting the job description.
Prior to beginning any search, the department chair, search committee chair, diversity and search advocate (DASA) and all of the members of the search committee must complete the online Faculty Hiring Module available through TalentWeb. The department chair, search committee chair, and the DASA must also complete the Faculty Hiring Workshop from the Office of the Provost. Completion of both the online module and the workshop provides certification for two years.
