Colloquy

Wednesday, Aug. 21, 2024, an annual event to mark the official start of the academic year, Colloquy provides an opportunity for faculty and staff to come together to recognize Distinguished Educator and Distinguished Scholarship Award recipients, and the installation of newly appointed endowed position holders.

The Faculty Accomplishments Reception is an annual event held in honor of faculty successes in the form of research and scholarly publications, as well as creative achievements in the visual and performing arts. The event honors work from the prior calendar year.

McCommons Awarded

Jillean McCommons, assistant professor of history and Africana studies, was awarded the 2024-2025 Wilma Dykeman "Faces of Appalachia" Postdoctoral Research Fellowship from the Appalachian Studies Association to support her book manuscript on Black Appalachian activism in the 1960s and 1970s.
