Dual-Career Families Resources

The University of Richmond recognizes the need for both partners in a dual-career family to find employment when they relocate to the Richmond area.  Although spouses or domestic partners of faculty are welcome to apply for positions at the University, they will be considered on an equal basis with all other applicants under the University's equal employment opportunity policies.

In addition to opportunities for academic employment, the Richmond area is home to a number of major employers, including several Fortune 500 companies (Altria Group, Dominion Resources, Genworth Financial, Owens and Minor, CarMax, MeadWestvaco), several major health-care systems (Virginia Commonwealth University Health System, Bon Secours Richmond Health System, HCA, Inc.), large law firms (Hunton and Williams, McGuireWoods) and a variety of other employers including Capital One, The Martin Agency, and DuPont.  As a state capital, Richmond also offers employment opportunities in state government, as well as local government in the city and surrounding counties.
