Locating Critical Theories

The Locating Critical Theories Faculty Learning Community (FLC) will explore various forms of critical theory, including critical legal theory, in order to better appreciate both the larger project of critique as well as how it is deployed across academic disciplines. The FLC will explore a number of broad topics – including issues such as sex regulation, big data, and employment systems – in order to better understand how diverse disciplines and forms of critical theory address the questions inherent in the multi-faceted problems. The goals are to deepen cross-disciplinary engagement, facilitate inquiry into questions of discrimination and its remedies across fields, and improve our collective understanding of how critical theory is a flexible tool for analyzing these issues.
