Committees and Special Task Forces -  Richmond Scholars Steering Committee

Charge:

The Richmond Scholars Steering Committee will coordinate the Richmond Scholars Program - a merit-based scholarship program that acts as an umbrella program for all merit scholarships that carry full-tuition or more. The Director of the Richmond Scholars Program is appointed by the Provost and chairs the committee.  The committee will work with Office of Admission, Office of Financial Aid, and the Provost to oversee the Richmond Scholars Program and make strategic and policy decisions that will result in the recruitment of top undergraduate students to campus. The committee will coordinate the selection and interview processes and recruit members of the undergraduate faculty as well as professional staff to assist in these processes. The committee will submit an annual report to the faculty.

Membership:

The Richmond Scholars Steering Committee is composed of five faculty with at least three from A&S and at least one from Business or Leadership Studies.  Ex officio members are the Director of Richmond Scholars Program (appointed by the Provost), the Dean of Admission, the Director of Financial Aid, the Director of Oliver Hill Program, and the Mentor to Oldham Scholars.  Faculty members will serve staggered three-year terms.
