Committees and Special Task Forces - Athletic Council
Charge:
The Athletic Council will advise the Director of Athletics in matters relating to the proper development, supervision, and control of the University's intercollegiate athletic program. This Council represents the major interests of the University (Board of Trustees, faculty, students, and alumni) and complies with all applicable NCAA rules.
Membership:
The Council is composed of 19 active members: Director of Athletics, Faculty Athletics Representative, five faculty members, three University staff, five trustees, two alumni, and two student-athletes. Two faculty members, who are recommended by the Committee on Committees (COC), serve three-year appointments; all other members serve a two-year appointment or until their successors are appointed. The Chair of the Council will be the Faculty Athletic Representative who is appointed anually by the President.
